At the window watching a Moon crescent while drinking tea on Key-El base, still stuck with the common Earthlings. Some reflections on the glass while the teleportating device warms-up just before the hyperspeed warp jump. Will this Moon find her place in the World or not, that is the question still unaswered today when the World is drifting apart and away more than ever.
Perhaps she can be accepted as part of the "Starcutter" crew which is preparing to sail to Cu-Planet in the System of Mendeleyeff.

Sailing will take long time at sub-light velocities pushed by the stars radiations but this may not be a problem if sufficient tea is provided on board.
The dynatron drivers complements propulsion similarly to the Scorpioship engines but they are optimized for slower speeds.
Drifting is countered by magnetoreactor coils installed in the hull appendages. Sailing requires skills similar to the one used for centuries on water oceans, just a bit more of math will do.

On the route we find a satellite of a planet far away, full of bubbles from the boiling oceans. Birds are flying on tall rocks surfacing at the horizon. The red color of the planet and its rings reflects in the sea surface and stones. The land with small bushes, eroded cliffs and sandy beaches seems a very hospitable one if one does not mind the boiling copper oceans and a silicon based biology with semiconductor-neurons brains communicating by microwaves over thousands of kilometers and feeding directly from the nearby stars energy spectrum.
One can even sail on such seas provided the hull is made of ceramic with non sticking nanocoatings. Actually sliding on melted metal can be even fun and additional propulsion can be implemented by exploiting magneto-hydro-dynamics.

For better fun a quick jump out of the ship and go with Kitesurfing on outer space radiation waves.
Do not forget your radiation hardened space cuit unless you want to be coocked and eaten by the aliens as a soft shell crab in the salad.

The nearby star blows material from its magnetic tunnels and some of it reaches the small planet who collects a stone ring of captured asteroids.
The planet does not offer great shielding from the radiation, it is more a potato-like giant asteroid so we shall not bother to stop there and we shall keep travelling and set our sails to better places.

Dry Dark Cutemare

A dark and cute nightmare creature flying around the skinny tree wants to collect the only available black fruit which is sorrounded and protected by a red energy field that emanates from the small vase where the tree is planted.
The tree also has few leaves and some virtual energy flowers anticipate where the branches will eventually grow. But all energies are finally collapsed in blood dropping on the floor and on the little table where the vase has been placed on top of a lonely tower made of stones.
Is that dark figure real or is it just a shadow of a much larger entity that we do not see because is illuminated from behind the paper where we project our sketched dream ?

This entity crawles on your bed at night and you feel his claws in your back deeply entering your body while he moves from your feet to your head. You feel the cold he carries with him that he puts inside your body through the wounds when he stabs you and you try to scream and cant make a move, totally paralized in the dark. Until you learn to weak up and exit from your nightmare.

And finally you can fly, achieve your freedom even if the green hand is still trying to grab you in a burst of bubbles.

Never mind the freedom, tears are still entering your world from their celestial orbit and burn in the hypersonical heat.

It is ultimately a matter of dynamics of bodies that revolves and compenetrates at different speeds.

Places

In a green valley half way on the Drau river there was a little village of few houses and one of them, the first on the way of the Fire Brigades had a large grass field in front and some trees with a family of porcupines living inside. The corn field in front kept the trucks noise from the road at a level lower than bumble bees buzz but sometimes we had to endure with the otherwise healthy smell of mountains of manure. Sitting in the porch and sketching the panorama on the Karawanken with a cigar and a glass of cognac was all you needed for full happyness at sunset.

The heat almost unbearable for humans was good for the cactus to grow between the dry stones on the wild coast between Trieste and Sistiana.

Transparency dominates the first layer of water from the shore to the first foamy ripple. Then it gets darker and finally, after two or three wavelenghts the total reflection dominates and the sea becomes a mirror for the sunshine and the sky.

A small island of the Istrian coast suggests a peaceful view unless ones notices the water is rushing in a maelstrom that threatens to sink the whole sea, perhaps including the island and the author himself.

The rocks few meter from the shore appear as  a fully independent island and an autonomous world for the little creatures crawling on it.

The west coast is barely few hundred meter long squeezed between containers, condos, shipyards and refineries at the four cardinal points. Nevertheless the stones can be a good resting place after a sweaty equatorial jog looking at the slow activity of the malay fishermen and quick flights of the brilliant blue kingfisher.

A big Moon rises above this imaginary chinese lake, resting place for migratory birds reaching it late at night after a thousands mile journey.
